Brookfield Waste Water Treatment Plant Improvement Project

On December 16, 2020 the Trumbull County Board of Commissioners awarded a contract to Thomas Construction Company, Grove City, PA in the amount of $16,700,800.00 for a complete upgrade of the Brookfield Waste Water Treatment Facility. Two new major components included a new Influent Pump Station and a 2.8 MG Equalization Basin to handle wet weather flows. The project Substantial Completion Date is January 2023 and is on schedule. The last upgrade took place in 1986.

Mineral Ridge Hydraulics Improvement Project

On June 30, 2021 the Trumbull County Board of Commissioners awarded a contract to Caldwell Tanks, Inc. in the amount of $1,992,000.00 to construct a 300,000 Gallon Elevated Water Tank and a contract to Utility Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $1,168,783.00 to construct water transmission main and a water booster station to supply the new elevated water tank. The purpose of the project is to address long standing water pressure and volume issues within the Mineral Ridge Water Public System. The anticipated startup date is mid-December 2022.

Mosquito Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant Improvement Project

On May 8, 2019 the Trumbull County Board of Commissioners awarded a contract to A.P. O’Horo Company, Inc. in the amount of $31,782,653.50 for a complete upgrade of the Mosquito Creek Waste Water Treatment Facility. The upgrade increased the capacity from 4.2 MGD to 5.25 MGD raising it from a Class 3 to a Class 4 facility. A major new component was the conversion of one of the three digester tanks to an anoxic zone in order to lower the phosphorus discharge levels to meet our new OEPA NPDES Discharge Limits. The last upgrade took place in 1986.
